1. You will need black card, yellow card, blue card, white paper, scissors and glue.

Then you will also need something round to trace around – like a small lid:

 

2. Trace two circles onto the yellow card, two circles onto the black card and two circles onto the white paper.

 

3. Cut out the yellow, black and white circles, so that you have 6 circles of equal size.

 

4. Then you need to cut out 2 small heart shapes out of the yellow card and 2 long rectangle shapes out of the black card for the antennae.

You could also cut out two small black circles for the eyes and a pink mouth, or you could draw them in step 6.

5. Stick a yellow circle halfway over a black circle, then another black circle on top of that and lastly, a yellow circle on the top.

 

6. Cut the 2 white circles in half and stick 2 halves on each side of the bee’s body. Stick the 2 black rectangles onto the bee’s head as its antennae and glue the tiny yellow heart shapes onto the ends as indicated. Draw a happy face onto the bee.

 

7. Fold the piece of blue card (or any colour of your choice) in half.

 

8. Glue your bee onto the blue card and write on the outside of the card. Then write a special message to mom on the inside.
