Child Welfare SA Nelspruit

Child Welfare SA Nelspruit is a registered Non-Profit Child Protection Organisation that has been protecting, caring for and empowering vulnerable children in Mbombela City and its surrounding communities for the past 86 Years.

At Child Welfare SA Nelspruit we protect and render service to abused, neglected, exploited, orphaned and abandoned babies and children. We intervene when children have serious behavioural challenges and we offer mediation services to families when conflicts put the lives of children at risk. We uphold and maintain professional standards of service delivery in our communities.

Our funds are audited yearly and are open to the Public scrutiny. The Department of Social Development subsides salaries of the social workers, however it is the obligation of the organisation to fundraise towards ensuring that their salaries are compensated. We also have important positions that are not funded by the government such as the human resource, fundraising, marketing position, reception, administration and general worker (inside office and yard/cars).

Since 1937 our organisation has been sustained by donors who have a heart for children. In rendering our child protection services, we drive around a lot with children: to courts, to alternative placements including Volkrust, Standerton and Belfast. Thus it is crucial that our cars are reliable for the safety of employees and the minor children that they are often on the road with.

Corporates, families and friends are invited to join this fun-filled event! Each team of 4 people will receive clues, bridges and detours in various places within the Nelspruit/White River boundaries. therefore there must be at least one licensed driver in every team.

This is a fundraising event, so each team is requested to register and pay an entry fee of R3000.00.
