Hello Heather!
Heather Prior is the head of Uplands Pre-Preparatory School in White River. She leads an incredible team and her eyes sparkle when she talks about the children and her special team of teachers.
Passionate about early childhood development, Heather is a strong believer in the principle of a good solid start to a child’s education through equipping them with vital skills whilst making sure that they are having fun!

We love to create an atmosphere that is enjoyable and centred around these little ones,” smiles Heather. Heather is Lowveld-raised and studied at JCE in Johannesburg, after which she started her teaching career at a school in Soweto, before moving into private
education. She went on to owning her own pre-school at Randpark Ridge until the call of motherhood and the Lowveld beckoned her back to White River and Uplands, where she has been for the past 15 years and Head of the Pre-
Preparatory since 2018.
Heather loves the fact that Uplands is one school, from her Pre-Preparatory
grades through to the college years. “We are at an amazing place right now;
the new members of the Executive bring huge value and experience to Uplands and the sky is the limit!” The Pre-Preparatory school at Uplands offers a play-based programme that is fun but ensures children can learn the
