 ALL IN ONE VEGETABLE BAKE

INGREDIENTS
• 1 kg total, of any combination of SPAR frozen vegetables of your choice and
preference
• 500 ml SPAR milk
• 80 ml sandwich mayonnaise spread
• 60 ml SPAR cake flour
• 250ml SPAR cheddar cheese, grated
• 250ml roughly crushed cheese & onion potato crisps

METHOD
1. Pre-heat oven on GRILL setting.
2. Boil the vegetables in lightly salted water in a covered saucepan until
tender. Pour off excess water. Pour 
in the milk and heat it around the
vegetables.
3. Combine the sandwich spread and flour, and stir into the pot while stirring
until the sauce thickens and comes to the boil. Check for seasoning, then
pour the mixture into an oven dish.
4. Combine the cheese and crushed chips and use to cover the top evenly.
5. Grill until the topping is golden brown. 

HINTS & TIPS
Add in a pack of cooked SPAR chopped bacon and a large onion sliced in rings
cooked together first, to turn this into a main meal.

 

– FRANK’S SPAGHETTI SURPRISE

 INGREDIENTS
• 375 g SPAR Spaghetti (3/4 packet)
• 100 ml SPAR Tomato Sauce
• 10 ml dried parsley
• 2 ml dried thyme                                                   

• 1 ml dried sage
• 410 g SPAR Tomato & Onion Mix (1 can)
• 425 g SPAR Butcher’s Best cheese grillers with onion (1 pack)
• 150 g SPAR Cheddar Cheese (or a half-half combination of cheddar
and mozzarella)

 METHOD
1. Snap each handful of spaghetti into thirds, dropping directly into a large
pot of steadily boiling salted water. Return to a rolling boil and cook for 8
minutes.
2. While the spaghetti is boiling, preheat the oven to 200 °C, combine the
tomato sauce, herbs, and the tomato-onion mix in a bowl, slice the sausages and grate the cheese.

3. Tip the pot of cooked pasta into a colander placed over the sink, and
shake to drain off the cooking liquid.
4. In a deep large oven-dish layer half the cooked spaghetti, tomato herb mix, sausage slices and grated cheese. Repeat this layering to use up the remaining ingredients, ending with the cheese.
5. Cover and bake in the pre-heated oven for 10 minutes; remove the lid and bake a further 5 minutes.
6. If time permits, set aside for 5 minutes to firm up slightly before serving.

HINTS & TIPS
Speed up the cooking time by boiling a full kettle of water to pour into the
pot for the spaghetti.
Recommended accompaniment: Frozen SPAR Creamed Spinach, microwaved according to the instructions, during the Step 5 oven baking time.
